Our approach to sustainability begins somewhere fundamental: the piece you wear, and how long it lasts.

UNTAMD was created to offer something the jewellery market rarely delivers...a responsible alternative that does not ask you to compromise.

Not fast fashion jewellery designed to be replaced each season. Not traditional fine jewellery with a price point that puts it out of reach. Something in between, and something better.

Most of our pieces are crafted using 99% recycled metals and finished with 3 microns of 18k gold vermeil — one of the thickest layers available in the category, and significantly above the industry standard of 2.5 microns. The result is jewellery that is waterproof, tarnish resistant, and hypoallergenic.

Designed to be worn every day, not saved for occasions. Jewellery that does not need to be replaced.

That is not a feature. That is our core philosophy.

When a piece is built to last, it does not end up in a drawer after six months. It does not contribute to the cycle of over-consumption that defines so much of fashion today. It becomes part of how someone dresses, how they move, and how they present themselves for years to come.

The Standard Behind the Piece

Vermeil refers to a specific gold-plating process applied to sterling silver. To carry the classification, the gold layer must be at least 2.5 microns thick. Enough to deliver both the appearance and the resilience the process is known for.

UNTAMD goes further. Our pieces are finished at 3 microns. Crafted in partnership with specialist Italian factories, using advanced measurement techniques to verify the thickness and purity of every layer. Before plating begins, each piece undergoes meticulous surface preparation to ensure the gold adheres without flaw. The electroplating process is precise and controlled, applying the gold layer evenly across the sterling silver base.

The result is jewellery that resists the wear of daily life.

Responsibility Beyond the Product

The same mindset that shapes our materials shapes how we run the business.

We work to minimise waste across our supply chain, and hold our suppliers to defined environmental and ethical standards through a Supplier Code of Conduct that outlines clear expectations around waste management and responsible disposal.

We encourage our customers to keep and care for their pieces. We offer cleaning, repairs, aftercare guidance, and flexible returns. Not because it is good marketing. Because it is the right approach for jewellery designed to last.

Packaging at UNTAMD is considered. Presentation matters, but not at the cost of excess.

Every decision is made with the same question in mind: is this necessary?

Certified. Assessed. Accountable.

We pursued independent certification because we believe our commitments should be verified, not self-declared.

UNTAMD is assessed under Positive Luxury's ESG+ programme . One of the most rigorous independent sustainability frameworks available to brands operating in the premium jewellery space. It covers climate impact, nature, water stewardship, worker treatment, community practices, and ethical governance, benchmarked against international standards.

Our overall score of 90 places us among the highest-performing brands assessed. Outperforming many well-established names in the jewellery category.

Across the three pillars:

Environmental — 78% · Good

Social — 97% · Excellent

Governance — 98% · Excellent

We are proud of this. We are also clear-eyed about it. An assessment is a point in time, not a destination. The score reflects where we are now. The work continues.

Future areas of focus include deeper supply chain transparency, continued waste reduction, and increasing the measurability of our environmental impact over time.

Positive Luxury works exclusively with the global premium industry, helping brands move from sustainability promises to measurable proof. We chose to work with them because their rigour matches our own expectations of ourselves and because independent certification allows us to build genuine trust with our customers, rather than asking them to take our word for it.

Made to last.

Worn for years.

Built with intention.

That is the only kind of jewellery we are interested in making.
